Voice lessons are the best way for each singer to get to know his or her own voice and develop it to it's potential. Travis High School has a staff of fabulous private voice instructors for all levels and abilities. Lessons are held at THS unless the voice teacher has a separate location (ex. home, private studio, etc.). If you are interested, please feel free to contact one of the instructors below for availability and cost.
Valeria Bautista is a Venezuelan Soprano, recently graduated from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music with a degree in Vocal Performance. Valeria enjoys singing a variety of genres, from Opera to the latest musical theater and pop hits. This summer, she performed with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston at the Hobby Center in their production of Iolanthe, where she sang with the chorus and understudied the role of Celia. Valeria also has collaborated with Opera in the Heights, as Children’s Chorus Master Assistant for their production of The Little Prince, and sung in the chorus for Ars Lyrica’s production of Theodora. At the Moores School of Music, she participated in seven operas, served as section leader of the varsity ensemble, Concert Chorale, and was a former president of the treble ensemble, Soundscape. Valeria enjoys teaching at the Katy Music Studio, helping her students prepare for the All-State process, audition for their school’s musical, or feel confident in their favorite karaoke song. She is a staff singer at St. Bartholomew of the Apostle Catholic Church in Katy and a member of the Board of Directors for the Houston Masterworks Chorus. Valeria is thrilled at the opportunity to support the Travis High School students in reaching their musical goals!
